Samsung was unable to push Android 2.2 to its popular Galaxy S line of devices before the end of 2010, and it's obvious that many of you are pretty upset at the company for being stuck on Android 2.1 going into 2011. While there's still no ETA for the Galaxy S Froyo upgrade, Samsung wants you to know that they know you're upset and that the update is still on its way. As you can see in the tweet above, Sammy wants its customers to have a simple update, but, due to the complexity of the upgrade, it's still in the process of being tested.
I'm just as surprised as everyone else that the Galaxy S devices still don't have Android 2.2, especially considering that Samsung said all the way back in June 2010 that an update to Froyo was coming. Sure, it'll be nice when the update finally comes, but with Gingerbread already here and the possibility of a Galaxy S 2 coming in February, users are just going to be left wanting more from their high-end devices. I suppose that the only good news here is that Samsung is being open about the update, and hopefully this is an indication that you Galaxy S owners will finally be enjoying Froyo within the next few weeks.
