It's been quite a while since the HTC Scorpion has appeared in the news (June, to be exact), but here we are in December and the Scorpion is making its presence known again. On the Italian version of Gameloft's site, the Scorpion's name appears under the list of devices compatible with the game Let's Golf! 2 HD. Previous rumors said that the Scorpion was headed to Verizon with specs that included a 1.5GHz processor and Android 2.2.
While the Froyo portion of the specs list is a little out of date now that Gingerbread is in the wild, a handset with a 1.5GHz processor would immediately be vaulted to the top of the list of Android phones in terms of raw power. The current processor king is the DROID 2 Global and its 1.2GHz chip, which also happens to be on Verizon, so the Scorpion would certainly be a welcome addition to Big Red's Android lineup. There's still no word on when, or if, the Scorpion will see the light of day, but the fact that it's appeared on Gameloft's site is evidence that it may still be alive somewhere within HTC.
