We've seen quite a few Windows Phone 7 leaks lately, so I think it's about time that we get some Android love, too. What you're looking at in the photo above is a Motorola MB520, aka Kobe and/or Diablo, a midrange Android handset destined for AT&T. The Kobe allegedly has a 3.5-inch touchscreen with a 480x854 resolution, an 800 MHz TI OMAP processor, PowerVR SGX 530 GPU, 512 MB of RAM, 2 GB of built-in storage, a 2 GB microSD card preinstalled, a 3 megapixel camera with no flash, and Android 2.1 running beneath MOTOBLUR. Reportedly, an over the air update to Android 2.2 is planned for the Kobe, as well. There's no word on release or pricing info, so stay tuned for that.
The Kobe looks like an interesting handset and, while it's somewhat disappointing that it can't quite hang spec-wise with the current crop of high-end Android smartphones, it's pretty state of the art compared to some of AT&T's other Android offerings. However, I am surprised to see MOTOBLUR appearing on another Motorola device considering the manufacturer recently said that they would no longer be focusing on the skin. For now, let's just cross our fingers and hope that we see the Kobe released soon and at a reasonable price point, okay?
