There have been rumors floating around lately that the HTC DROID Incredible is going to be phased out soon by Verizon, similar to what happened to its little brother, the DROID Eris. However, a Verizon spokesperson has reached out to MobileBurn to point out that this is simply not the case. About a week ago, we saw a leaked photo of a purported Verizon close out sheet showing the Incredible along with the Eris and other devices that were already phased out. Now we know that that sheet was either a fake or for an old SKU of the Incredible. Either way, it's great that the DROID Incredible is still available for consumers.
Even with the impending release of the Motorola DROID X, the DROID Incredible is still a great choice, even if the "ship by" date on Verizon's page now shows July 26th. The supplies for producing the Incredible still seem to be in short supply, especially since Samsung, the manufacturer of the Incredible's screen, is gearing up to release the Galaxy S on five different major carriers. Still, if the DROID X is a little too much phone for you, the Incredible is a great choice and worth the wait.
