The Galaxy Tab S6 is Samsung's current flagship tablet, offering high-end specs like a Snapdragon 855 processor and a high-res Super AMOLED display. Now a new leak suggests that Samsung may have a more mid-range version of the Tab S6 in the works.
A leaked image claims to show the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The render shared by Android Headlines shows a device with a design similar to the regular Tab S6, including bezels around all four sides of the display and a front-facing camera.
We can also see an S Pen stylus in the leaked image. Since the back of the Tab S6 Lite isn't shown, it's unclear if this model will include a place for the S Pen to attach magnetically and wirelessly charge like on the regular Tab S6.
When it comes to specs, this Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is expected to include an Exynos 9611 processor, which is used in many of Samsung's mid-range phones. It'll also reportedly have 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB of built-in storage.
An announcement is reportedly happening sometime in the coming weeks. Pricing for the Tab S6 Lite isn't yet known, but expect it to be cheaper than the Tab S6 which starts at $649. A $399 price tag for this Galaxy Tab S6 Lite wouldn't be a huge surprise.
It's great to see Samsung continue to churn out high-end Android tablets because we don't see many other companies releasing them, but there are also lots of folks who don't want to pay $600 or $700 for a high-end tablet that they're just going to use for web browsing and email.
Models like this Galaxy Tab S6 Lite can offer a more affordable alternative to those pricier tablets while still offering decent performance for light gaming and stuff like that.
