Yesterday Verizon announced that it’s bumping up the price of its grandfathered unlimited data plan for postpaid customers, and today it’s followed up with some prepaid plan news.
Verizon today launched five new prepaid plans for tablets, hotspots, and connected devices (like the Samsung Gear S). The new plans offer data buckets ranging between 500MB and 10GB that’ll last for varying periods of time. Here’s how the new plans break down:
Verizon notes that you can enroll in AutoPay and never have to worry about manually reloading your device with data. And if you’ve already got a tablet or connected device with an AutoPay plan, you can continue to use that plan until it expires or replenishment occurs.
It’s also worth noting that if you want to get a smartphone with a Verizon prepaid plan, these new plans don’t apply. Verizon currently offers two prepaid smartphone plans: $45 per month for unlimited talk and text as well as 1GB of data or $60 per month for unlimited talk and text with 2.5GB of data.
