When the LG Watch Urbane launched earlier this year, it did so with a $349 price tag that made it one of the pricier Android Wear smartwatches around. Now LG has gone ahead and one-upped itself with an even pricer wearable.
The LG Watch Urbane Luxe is a new, luxury version of the Watch Urbane that has a 23-karat gold case and alligator leather strap. As you might guess, those materials make for a pricey product; LG says that the Watch Urbane Luxe will retail for around $1200 USD.
There will be 500 LG Watch Urbane Luxe units made, each with its own serial number engraved on the unit for authenticity. The wearable will be launch at the end of October, wit pre-orders available at www.reeds.com or Reeds Jewelers stores.
LG is touting the Watch Urbane Luxe as a “luxurious wearable” that’s “designed with a specific wearer in mind.” Most of us probably wouldn’t drop $1200 on a smartwatch, but Android device owners with lots of disposable income may like a gold smartwatch to go along with it.
