After announcing a couple of new Android-powered Desire smartphones, HTC’s CES 2015 rolls on this afternoon with a major partnership.
HTC and Under Armour have teamed up to create new products for UA Record, a part of the Under Armour Connected Fitness series of health and fitness products. HTC says that the first UA Record-integrated product will be announced soon. Exactly what that’ll be remains to be seen, but HTC CEO Peter Chou has teased that HTC and Under Armour “will provide customers with a range of connected health and fitness products and services that no other brand can match.”
Wearable devices and fitness trackers have gotten pretty big over the past year or so, and while HTC hasn’t yet entered either space, it did strike out into non-wireless categories lately with the launch of the RE camera. Teaming up with Under Armour could be a nice way for HTC to break into the wearables market with the help of an established athletic brand.
