Looks like the rumors were true. AT&T this morning announced that it will launch the LG Optimus G Pro on May 10 for $199.99 with a two-year commitment. Pre-sales for the device will begin on May 3, and AT&T says that anyone that pre-orders a unit will receive a free black Quick Cover case.
The AT&T-flavored version of the Optimus G Pro doesn't appear to be terribly different from the international version that debuted this year. There's a physical home button at the bottom of the device's face, complete with a notification light surrounding it, as well as capacitive back and menu buttons on either side of it. As you can see in the image above, AT&T has decided to slap its globe logo on the backside of the unit, right beneath the camera.
The specs of the AT&T Optimus G Pro also look to be fairly similar to the international model. That means that AT&T folk can expect a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 13-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front cameras and a 1.7GHz quad-core processor. Here's the full spec rundown for AT&T's version of the Optimus G Pro:
AT&T notes in its announcement that its got an exclusive on the Optimus G Pro, so it looks like any U.S. consumers that are interested in LG's new phone/tablet hybrid will have to snag a unit from Big Blue, at least for now. That's kind of a bummer for customers on other operators, but it is good to see that LG's new flagship device is hitting at least one major carrier here in the U.S. So now that it's officially official, do any of you AT&T folk plan on checking out the Optimus G Pro once it lands on store shelves next week?
