It appears that Verizon is in an updating mood today, as the big red carrier has officially revealed that the HTC Rezound, HTC DROID Incredible 2 and LG Spectrum are all due to receive new software sometime soon. The updates for the Rezound and DROID Incredible 2 are both fairly small, each containing a mysterious "HTC Device Enhancement." The Rezound's update is build number 3.14.605.13 710RD, while the Incredible 2's is 6.04.605.07 710RD.
LG Spectrum owners can expect a slightly beefier update. The new software, which is version number VS920ZV8, removes some of the Spectrum's built-in apps and brings with it a few improvements that should make using the device more enjoyable. The full changelog is as follows:
Device Enhancements and Updates
While the Spectrum's update isn't quite as major as the one that came before it, which brought with it a bump to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, the removal of some preinstalled apps and some improvements to the dialer and LG keyboard make this an update that Spectrum owners can get excited about. Verizon hasn't said precisely when any of these new updates will begin rolling out to users, but we typically see new software start going out over the air within a week or so after Big Red makes it officially official. That means if you've got a Rezound, DROID Incredible 2 or Spectrum laying around, you may want to keep an eye out for an update notification in the coming days.
