Hot on the heels of a rumor about the LG Optimus G Pro, LG has revealed how the original Optimus G has been selling since its launch last year. The Optimus G has sold one million units to date, a stat that Korean publication Yonhap News Agency says that LG reported today. The Optimus G has been released in Canada, Japan, South Korea and the U.S. so far, and LG is planning to bring it to China and select European countries in the first quarter of 2013. LG also said that it recorded record global smartphone sales in the third quarter of 2012, moving a total of 7 million units, 2.1 million of which were LTE-enabled.
The Optimus G was fairly well-received when it hit AT&T and Sprint last year, which was good news for LG considering that it isn't a company that's typically associated with high-end Android smartphones here in the U.S. While the Optimus G's sales can't quite match those from the likes of Apple and Samsung, things do appear to be picking up for LG, and that's a trend that could continue with the Optimus G Pro if it ends up hitting multiple countries like the OG Optimus G (OG OG?) did. How many of you own an Optimus G? What do you think of the LG-made handset after spending some quality time with it?
