Just a week after we got a verdict in one Apple v. Samsung case, another legal battle between the two companies is starting to heat up. As noted by Apple Insider, Apple earlier today added more Samsung-made handsets to a suit that it originally filed back in February against multiple devices, including the Galaxy Nexus. The devices added include the Galaxy S III, Verizon Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 10.1, with the total number of Samsung products named in the complaint now reaching 22. Apple has included eight different patents in its case against Samsung, including a slide to unlock patent.
This isn't the first time that Apple has gone after the Galaxy S III with claims of patent infringement, as the Cupertino firm sought a preliminary injunction against Samsung's flagship handset back in June, but it was unsuccessful in that attempt. Whether things are different this time around or not remains to be seen, but you've got to figure that Apple is feeling pretty good after a jury recently ruled in its favor over Samsung. For now we'll have to wait and see how Samsung reacts to the case and where the battle goes from here. Once we hear more on the Apple-Samsung legal front, you can be sure we'll update you with the details. Apple's full complaint is available below.
