Just a couple of weeks after the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi received its update to Android 4.0.4, it looks like another Galaxy Tab family member is getting its own taste of Ice Cream Sandwich. This time it's the Galaxy Tab 8.9's turn in the update spotlight, as both Android Police and users in the Android Central forums are reporting that the Tab 8.9's bump up to Android 4.0.4 has started rolling out over the air. The update weighs in at 313.96MB and will bring the Tab 8.9 to IMM76D.UELPB.
As with the Galaxy Tab 10.1's ICS update, it's good to see Samsung continue to make progress on updating its Galaxy Tabs to a more recent version of Android, especially since they're moving up from Honeycomb. If you're currently rocking a Galaxy Tab 8.9 and want to give ICS a go yourself, the update should be available both as an OTA download over Wi-Fi or through Samsung's Kies software. Anyone interested in going the OTA route can check for the update manually by moseying on into Settings > About device > Software update > Update. Once the dust settles and you've got ICS on your Tab 8.9, our comments section is the perfect place to tell us how your new dessert is treating you and your newly-updated slate.
