We've already seen the Motorola XOOM 2 leak out a few times in both 10.1-inch and 8.2-inch sizes, but today the latter of the two is back in the news along with some possible release information. The smaller XOOM 2 has been spotted in a leaked Carphone Warhouse flyer that confirms that the device will be packing an 8.2-inch touchscreen, Android 3.2, 16GB built-in storage, and Wi-Fi/tethering support. What's interesting about the ad is that it encourages the reader to "give something special this Christmas," meaning that the new Honeycomb slate — which is priced in the ad at €399.90 or around $545 — could well hit retail shelves by December 25th so that, you know, it can be gifted for Christmas. Whether or not U.S. shelves will be included is still up in the air.
Alongside the aforementioned handful of specs, this particular XOOM 2 is rumored to be packing a 5-megapixel camera and may also come in 32GB and LTE flavors. We've yet to get official word on either of the new XOOMs from Motorola, but if this device is indeed launching in time for Christmas, expect to hear an announcement sooner rather than later. Anyone think that the 8.2-inch XOOM 2 might strike a happy medium between the 7-inch and 10.1-inch tablets that are on the market?
