As I'm sure you've heard by now, the iPhone 5 will reportedly be making its way to Sprint as soon as next month. Today a new report from Bloomberg and its "people familiar with the matter" echoed the claims that Apple's new smartphone will hit the Now Network in mid-October, but those sources also added a new rumor-flavored whipped topping to the Sprint iPhone pie. According to the tipsters, Sprint will continue to offer its unlimited data plan alongside the iPhone 5 as a way to entice customers away from Verizon and AT&T, which currently only offer tiered data plans. Interestingly, one source also told Bloomberg that Sprint has delayed the September launch of one of its 4G-enabled handsets to better prepare for the arrival of the iPhone.
If Sprint does decide to offer unlimited data alongside the iPhone 5, it could convince many folks that don't have a grandfathered unlimited plan on Verizon or AT&T to make the jump to the Now Network. Although this is all still very much a rumor at this point, it wouldn't be a shock to see Sprint offer an unlimited data plan with the iPhone 5. Not only would such a move be a great way for Sprint to differentiate itself from Verizon and AT&T, but the carrier has been advertising its all-you-can-eat data plan quite a bit as of late. What do you all think of this news? Would the prospect of unlimited data convince you to pick up an iPhone 5 on Sprint?
