AT&T users have been having a pretty good week so far (though the same can't be said for AT&T itself) with the emergence of more HTC Holiday photos and the Galaxy S II announcement, but today things have taken a turn for the bad. It's been revealed that, effective today, AT&T will no longer be offering its A-List feature to new customers. A-List was introduced two years ago and offered customers with a qualifying plan the ability to make unlimited calls to five or ten phone numbers of their choosing. Subscribers that already have A-List will be grandfathered in, although it's worth mentioning that switching from an individual plan to a family plan or the other way around might cause you to lose A-List. AT&T confirmed the change in a statement to Engadget:
"With automatic addition at no-cost of AT&T's Mobile to Any Mobile offer for our wireless customers with an unlimited messaging plan, AT&T A-List is being discontinued for new users. Existing A-List users are not affected. We have seen a very enthusiastic response to the value of Mobile to Any Mobile which lets users with an unlimited messaging plan call any mobile number in America, regardless of the wireless provider."
The availability of AT&T's Mobile to Any Mobile feature makes the elimination of A-List a little easier to swallow, but this news is still kind of a bummer, especially for new AT&T users that regularly make calls to landlines. Now it just looks like those customers will have a good way for to use up their Rollover minutes. Are any of you currently signed up for AT&T's A-List?
