If you happen to be on one of T-Mobile's unlimited talk and text prepaid offerings, Magenta's planning to give you a nice surprise on Sunday, May 22nd. Right now, T-Mo currently offers an unlimited talk and text prepaid plan with 100MB of data for $50 per month or, for $20 more per month, you can up your data allotment to 2GB. Beginning on the 22nd, though, those plans will be getting a bump in the data department. Users on the $50 plan will still be given 100MB of data, but that 100MB will be delivered at 4G speeds and, after exceeding the 100MB limit, customers will see their data speeds throttled but won't need to reup their plan or buy a $1.49 DayPass like they do now. Meanwhile, subscribers that opt for the $70 option will be given unlimited data, a definite improvement from the 2GB limit that's in place now.
These changes sound pretty awesome and make T-Mobile's pre-paid offerings pretty enticing, although it's not yet clear when or if T-Mo will throttle the data speeds of users on the $70 unlimited data option. Considering that Magenta begins throttling Even More unlimited data customers after 2GB, though, it's likely that the same limit that will imposed on the pre-paid side. So, anyone plan on jumping on one of these prepaid plans when the 22nd rolls around?
