Samsung dropped a nice little going-away present on us all during this last day of CES.  The F490 touchscreen phone was announced for release next month in Europe, and a Sprint-branded version of the device has also shown up on the Interweb as the M800.  The M800 is unconfirmed, and of course has slightly watered down specs as compared to the 490, but it's still a nice treat.

The SGH-F490 is a full frontal touchscreen candybar phone in the style of the iPhone and LG Prada.  The F490 will feature a 3.2" display that works in both landscape and portrait orientations, Samsung's sexy Croix user interface, a 5MP camera, 3.5mm audio jack, and 130 MB internal storage with a microSD slot for expandable memory.  Set to ship to European customers in February, the F490 will be a tri-band GSM/EDGE phone with 2100 MHz HSDPA (that is, European-spec).  The handset will carry a hefty $775+ pricetag (530 Euros).

Meantime, Mobiledia has posted what look very much like official press photos of the SPH-M800 for Sprint.  The M800 is looking much like the F490 with that big ol' touchscreen and sleek candybar form factor.  Mobiledia is reporting the F490's as a CDMA handset with EV-DO support (including Sprint TV and Sprint Music Store), with additional specs like integrated GPS, a 2 MP camera, and A2DP for Stereo Bluetooth.

There's nothing from Sprint or Sammy just yet on the M800, but once I dig anything up I'll pass it your way ASAP.
