Motorola is back in the game with three new Droid smartphones for Verizon Wireless. The flagship is the Motorola Droid Maxx, and in addition to the spelling changes ('DROID' is now 'Droid'), there are changes under the hood. The Droid Maxx is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core CPU with Motorola's X8 system, and offers 4G LTE connectivity along with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The phone is 8.5mm thin and sports a 3,500 mAh battery that Motorola promises will stay charged for up to 48 hours. It will be available for purchase on August 20th for $299.99.
