The good: Inexpensive, good enough
The bad: No-frills
Summary: IF you use your phone for semi-emergencies/short calls every now and again lasting 1-3 minutes...

IF you don't mind a no-frills basic cell phone...

IF you can remember to renew on a yearly basis...

IF you are careful with your phone because despiste what people say on here there is no such thing as lifetime service, there is an option to purchase lifetime double minutes for the life of a particular phone (not the person calling lol), but IF u dropped it in the toilet? oh well. the phone itself is essentially the contract.

IF you know what u r doing u should not have to call cust serv. I did once they replaced a faulty phone they originally shipped with no hassels, but I have never had to call again... but I am aware they have poor service.

bottom line... ONLY people interested in having a no-frills phone for short calls can make it cost effective. NOt for the gossiper, or daily user.

Also... you can use tracfone (WITHOUT THE VOICE MAIL SET-UP) as a free pager by simply calling a loved-one on their tracfone, they in-turn don't pick up but instead call back on a land-line, consequently there is no charge and at the same time you are communication you want to speak with them, like a pager.

Also, you can use google sms to send text messages to a tracfone free (receiving them is alaways free) and avoid the 1/3 unit cost to send from your tracfone.

IF you use promo-codes + lifetime-double minute card + 1 year 400 minute card(ea. yr), then you can reduce the cost of the phone to about $8-9/mo and recieve roughly 1000 min per year. As of right now I have over 2200 roll-over minutes after 4 years.
The good: Awesome Customer Service. I rarely have to call up the CS, but when I do, they are always willing to work with me. I have been with Alltel since 2005, and it is 200% better than T-Mobile. Since I live in a small town, it's hard to get good cell phone service, but it's absolutely perfect here and all the way to where I go. My father is a truck driver & says theres barely anywhere that the service is zero bars. Their prices are also a good deal, and they will always let you know of promotions.
The bad: Alltel stores are not conveiniently located! I have to drive an hour one-way to get to an actual store--if you have problems and are required to go to a STORE, NOT AN AGENT, it's a hassle! Also, the agents usually have old phones even after they have been discontinued.
Summary: I won't ever change to a different provider unless they let their service go down the drain. I'm happy with my service & after my (new) 2 year contract was done on Oct 26, I got to get a brand new phone at the "new-customer" promo price. They really take care of their customers.
The good: The keyboard and easyness to use.
The bad: Any wind while on the phone and the phone breaks up. Whoever youre talking to has a hard time understanding you. When you use AOL instant messenger and get a call, if you receive anymore messages most of the time, the phone will reboot, the message will be lost and whoever youre on the phone with will think you hung up on them. I literally had to replace the enV 3 times, then Verizon replaced 2 enV2s, then they even blamed the memory card and after a new memory card, it STILL happened. 5 phon
Summary: The phone overall is OK, the cons describe my feelings on the phone. I pay $120 on average a month, I expect a phone to work and not reboot randomly when it wants to. 5 phones, same problem with EVERY SINGLE 1. I like LG, I don't like the enV/enV2. I use the AIM program a lot, I average 3000-4000 text messages a month including AIM, this phone overall is a disappointment. They need to fix the AIM program and find out why every single phone errors.
This phone is awsome, it has all the features you need with out the complexity of trying to figure it out, its user friendly. menus are easy to read and adjusts to your liking. This phone makes texting a nice and quick way of typing all you want. Web browsing is fun, quality of this feature is more then i expected. I highly recommend this phone if you want the features of txting and web browsing without the extra non-used features a blackjack or blackberry phone offers.
The good: Walkman, simple, good for 1st timers, durable, cute, small, joy-stick (fun), transfer pictures, videos, and music to your phone from your computer, songs can be used as ringtone (love that), fun games and picture editing, battery lasts a long time
The bad: Joy-stick is sometimes hard to use, low-quality pictures, dislike color (regret not going with the pink), buttons are different than other phones, no keyboard (have-to-have for texters), it doesn't slide or flip...its just there
Summary: A great phone for first timers and very simple. also is a walkman. buttons are hard to use sometimes, and the phone is very small. white phone is very ugly, and you can see every scratch/mark on it. i have a love/hate relationship with this phone, considering no keyboard, which i am in need of, it is very cute, and i hope my advise helps :]
peace???love
The good: Great camera, good battery, easy to upload music, good sound quality
The bad: after few months phone is shaky, scratches easily(like all phones)
Summary: If you take pictures and videos often, get this phone! Easy to upload pics and vids. Good for music
The good: Reliable service, great pricing, great coverage, love My Circle, awesome customer service on the phone, love the online access to billing.
The bad: Poor choice of phones sometimes. Retail stores sometimes have incompetent employees.
Summary: I have been with Alltel since 2001 and have had no issues with them. I do not plan on changing my cell service ever, unless things drastically change. I have always had a great experience with customer service on the phone. Some retail stores have horrible employees, but I just avoid the ones that I have found are like that and deal with most of my issues on the phone. I love Alltel Online access. It is great.
The good: Lightweight, big keypad, bright bold display
The bad: During texting the keys are slow, very disappointed that there is no way to push or slide up, no thumb notch, makes for a smeared window. My battery life is very limited. I did return for a new battery, I hope that works
Summary: Good lightweight phone, but really missing out on a way to slide up without using the screen.
The good: Easy touch screen a very good camera all the ability u expect out of blackberry blackberry keyboard qwerty keyboard of course video playback music pictures all the sorts
The bad: Touch screen is a laggy but not all that bad and its sorta big for pockets other than that its a very good phone
Summary: its a very good phone everybody who can should own it G1 killer!!! iphone destroyer!!!!!
The good: Qwerty keyboard
Text friendly
Big screen
User friendly
everything u could want!!

The bad: None that I can think of so far.
Summary: Everything is at your finger tips with this phone. The color is great, the keyboard is easy to use, the feaures are great!! I recommend this phone to anyone that is a big texter. I get compliments just on the color and the cool shape but when they open this baby they get surprised at the qwerty keyboard and the features.
The good: -One Click is very easy to use and very helpful ( I personally like having weather and horoscope bubbles from my home icon)
-Great camera quality
-Style/design is new and refreshing which is great for sprint customers whose main choices were standard flip phones and smartphones.
-Tv/radio applications run well (as well as a phone should anyway)
-youtube application is also a nice feature
The bad: -It might just be because since I got it (10/26) I've been barely able to put it down, but the battery is a little lacking. Again it might just be because I'm constantly using it.
Summary: All In all I would highly recommend this to any avid texter who wants more than what the Rumor offers, unless you're more into the slider design, then go with the Rant. As far as I know it has pretty much all the same features. I love my lotus!
The good: The big screen, the responsiveness of the phone itself, design, and very easy to use.
The bad: Battery life and signal strength could have been better. It get dirty quickly but that depends on the color i guess.
Summary: When i first got the phone i was really excited to use and feel the device. In my personal opinion i think it is one of the best, if you don't count the fact the fact that the battery life could be better for a phone with that much capabilities. The signal strength at first (before I updated it) was terrible the 2.1 update really improved the overall signal.
The good: 1. Its a great Operating System
2. Its much sturdier than the previous iphone (I put this phone in my pocket without worrying, it can survive a fall.
3. The GPS. It doesn't speak to you like other GPS but if you only use casually walking in a street its pretty useful.
4. The App Store- this is the "cherry on top". Its great. Unlike other smatphones (except the Android) you can download apps from developers organized in on app. There's an app for everything and you wil find yourself spen
The bad: 1. Monthly Service Price a little high
2. You will have to spend time cleaning it if you want to look Good...
3. I had to go thru a lot of trouble to get it
Summary: Its a great phone. As mentions in the pros the operating system is great, very user friendly, it is a lot sturdier (it can survive a fall). It has GPS. You can download apps directly from the app store. Its the prettiest phone ever created.

On the bad side, the monthly charge is expensive and you have to clean it to get the finger prints out.
The good: Great speaker, tv, navigation, holds texts as conversations-easy to go back and re-read, great camera
The bad: Almost to many bells and whistles if your coming in from a much older phone, not very easy to change from ringer to vibrate if you need to silence your phone. Battery doesnt seem to last as long as it should
Summary: Great little phone, everyone loves it who sees it. keyboard easy to use. If you want basics with ring tones etc. this may be too detailed but no major disappointments.
The good: Coverage is extremely good. I have NEVER had a single dropped call from my end yet and I have been with them for 4 years. The very few times that I did have any issues I called up their customer service and they were very kind, polite, courteous and very helpful
The bad: The only thing I dont really like about AT&T is that they are a little pricy
Summary: I have been with AT&T for 4 years now. I have had virtually no problems with them. Everything was good when they were Cingular. Nothing changed when they were bought out by AT&T. I will continue to stay with AT&T as long as they provide good service to me
The good: Lowest cost time, great coverage.
The bad: Poor phone selection.
Summary: I drive truck, border to border, mountain range to mountain range, never been without sevice. Even deliveries to boondock locations had service. If you can't understand the service person, just ask for another person, or a supervisor.

The SIM card must be set up in the area you live in. Don't buy one out of your service area, or buy one and send it to someone out of your service area without setting it up first in your area. Most of the problems I read in your comments started with the customer not understanding the rules.

I started with Tracfone ( the parent company ) and switched over to Net10 for the lower cost. If you want a phone to be more than a phone go sign a two year contract with someone for 3 times the money. If you want a phone that works like a phone, get Net 10.
The good: The dual flip screen, styling, slim and fashion-forward
The bad: The hinge is VERY delicate, extremely small buttons
Summary: The "alias" is a decent phone for younger people who text a lot, but there are some things that I just don't like about it. The buttons are very small and somewhat hard to press, (if I didn't have long nails, it would be really hard to deal with) sometimes when it's open one way, and then opened the other way, the screen is still flipped around. I think it's a good "filler" phone. If you just want it for texting and making calls, then go for it, but anything else will KILL the battery. Heaven forbid if you dropped it, the back will come flying off and the battery will pop out, so be careful and make sure you get the insurance!!
The Samsung M520 is the best phone I've every had!! It is VERY easy to use and get accustom to. I would definatily recommend it for anybody that wants something a little more than a phone, but not as much as a smartphone/PDA. It's a good phone for any age as well.
The good: Easy to grip, great sound, cool look.
The bad: Below average camera, small buttons
Summary: Looks great, sounds great. Easy to setup. I had to return my first phone but T-Mobile was great. I would recommend this phone to anyone not wanting or needing a lot of the frills.
The good: Not everyone has it.
Cute size and shape, nice color, easy keyboard
The bad: No video, no evdo, but it's not necessary...
Summary: Great form factor, nice simple phone with full qwerty. It's for the person who doesn't need a smartphone but likes the bigger screen, nicer keyboard, and bar form. Slider is smooth, color is not as awful as it appears in pix, phone has been a pleasure to use and I'm very happy I purchased this!!
