Many people use their smartphones to stay on top of current events, and today Microsoft unleashed a redesigned app just for that purpose.
Microsoft News is now available on Android and iOS. It features a "completely redesigned" look with a personalization feature that'll tailor the app's news feed to your interests, like World News or Fitness. Also included are local news options for "top cities". The app also offers breaking news alerts to help keep you up-to-date.
Microsoft says that it works with hundreds of publishers in dozens of countries around the globe on the Microsoft News app. Users can select from editions in more than 20 countries that offers content from 3,000 brands.
Another notable feature of the Microsoft News app is its new dark theme. Not only will this feature be easier on the eyes when you're reading news at night, but it's also a welcome addition for all of those smartphones coming out with OLED screens. Other notable features include integration with iOS and Android widgets as well as continuous reading for a smooth experience.
You can get Microsoft News for Android and iOS from the Play Store and the App Store, respectively.
