Stories have become a major part of Instagram, and today it was revealed that two new Stories-centric features are rolling out.
First up is Stories Highlights. With this feature, you can show off any Stories that you're particularly proud of in your profile, letting them live on forever rather than disappearing in 24 hours like most Stories.
To use Stories Highlights, you tap the "New" button below your bio then choose from any Stories in your archive — more on that in a second — and then give it a cover and name. Your highlight will appear below your name as a standalone story that'll play when someone taps it.
Highlights will stay on your profile for as long as you keep them there, and you can have as many highlights as you want.
The second new feature coming to Instagram is Stories Archive. Going forward, your Stories will automatically be saved to your Stories Archive after they expire. The Stories Archive can be found in your profile, and it'll let you relive any Stories that you've shared in the past. Only you can see your Stories archive.
After you watch one of the Stories in your archive, you'll be able to add it to your story, share it as a post, or add it to a highlight.
Both of these new features are part of Instagram version 25 on Android and iPhone.
