The processor that'll power many of 2018's flagship smartphones has been confirmed.

Qualcomm today announced the Snapdragon 845. Unfortunately, Qualcomm didn't spill any features or specs of the chipset, but the company does plan to share more info about it tomorrow.

One detail that was confirmed today was that Xiaomi plans to use the Snapdragon 845. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that his company will use the Snapdragon 845 chipset in its next flagship smartphone.

It's not really a surprise to learn that Qualcomm is prepping a Snapdragon 845 chipset, as the Snapdragon 800-series processors have powered many of the flagship smartphones that we've seen in recent years. Still, it's nice to get confirmation of the SD845's existence, and we look forward to learning more about it tomorrow. Stay tuned.
