Now that the Galaxy S8 is on store shelves and in customers’ hands, Samsung shed some light on the new flagship’s pre-orders.
Samsung said today that pre-orders of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ grew more than 30 percent compared to the pre-orders of the Galaxy S7. The GS7 set a pre-order record for Samsung, so the GS8 is now the pre-order king for the company.
Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t provided exact pre-order numbers for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, so it’s unclear exactly how many devices Samsung sold leading up to the April 21 launch.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ were available for pre-order for nearly a month before their launch, so consumers had plenty of time to think about the new devices and place their pre-order. Still, Samsung is probably pretty pleased to see the GS8 and GS8+ pre-orders surpass the pre-order numbers put up by the GS7, especially considering the whole Galaxy Note 7 fiasco from late last year.
Have you picked up a Galaxy S8 or S8+ yet? If so, what do you think of it?
