The G6 is the major focus of LG and much of the smartphone world right now, but today we’ve got some good news for owners of older LG flagships.
LG has confirmed that it will release Android 7.0 updates for the G4 and V10. The LG V10’s update will launch in Korea in the second quarter of 2017, while the G4’s update will arrive in the third quarter. LG says that update announcements for other markets will be made separately.
Neither the G4 nor the V10 are particularly old phones, with the former coming up on its second birthday and the latter around one and a half years old, so it’s good to see LG confirm Android 7.0 updates for them both. They may not have the speediest hardware around anymore, but many people expect that when they buy a flagship smartphone, it’ll be supported with major updates for at least a couple of years, much like Google does with its Nexus and Pixel phones. Now G4 and V10 owners can rest easy knowing that they’ll get that treatment.
