Hot on the heels of news that Samsung’s next Galaxy Note is likely to be called the Galaxy Note 7, more details on the upcoming Android flagship have leaked.
The Galaxy Note 7 will reportedly feature a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 Super AMOLED display, matching the Galaxy Note 5. Evan Blass, the source of the Galaxy Note 7 name leak, also claims that the Note 7 will feature a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera and 5-megapixel front camera, both of which are found on the Galaxy S7.
Another feature that’s rumored to be coming to the Note 7 and is sure to be highlighted by Samsung is an iris scanner. This feature will help beef up the Note 7’s security, using the owner’s eye to keep others out of the phone. Of course, we’ll have to wait until the Note 7 launches before we can find out exactly how well this iris scanner will perform.
Rounding out today’s rumored Note 7 features is 64GB of internal storage, a microSD slot (a feature that was missing from the Note 5), IP68 water and dust resistance, and black, silver, and blue color options.
While still unofficial, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see many of these specs appear in the Galaxy Note 7. Samsung often carries features from the Galaxy S flagship into the Galaxy Note flagship that it releases in the same year, which is why the Note 7 is likely to include the Galaxy S7's 12MP rear and 5MP front cameras, IP68 water and dust resistance, and microSD slot, the last of which is sure to please folks who were frustrated that the Note 5 copied the Galaxy S6’s lack of a microSD slot.
The Galaxy Note 7 is expected to make its debut in August. If these specs hold true, will you be buying one?
