It’s expected that Samsung will unveil its sixth Galaxy Note flagship later this year, but there’s been some back and forth about whether it’ll be called the Galaxy Note 6 or Galaxy Note 7. Now it appears that that mystery has been solved.
Evan Blass has shared an image that shows Samsung’s branding for its next Galaxy Note smartphone, and it includes a “7.” The branding itself is styled similarly to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 branding, using the same font and not placing a space between “Note” and “7.”

As for why Samsung would skip the Galaxy Note 6, it’s possible that the company wants to get its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note flagships all on the same number. If Samsung has a Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 6, some folks might think that the Galaxy Note 6 is last year’s model and opt for the Galaxy S7 so that they’re getting the newer device. By skipping Galaxy Note 6, Samsung would be making it clear that the GS7 and Note 7 are both the current flagships.
What do you hope to see from the Galaxy Note 7?
