Animated GIFs are very “in” right now, and thanks to Giphy, iOS users can now easily insert GIFs into their everyday communications.

Giphy Keys is now live on the App Store, giving iOS users a keyboard that’s integrated with Giphy’s deep catalog of GIFs. Once enabled, you can use Giphy Keys to search for a GIF, browse reaction GIFs (like “Hello” and “WTF”), and view different categories. You can also save your favorite GIFs for future reuse, and there’s a section to see the GIFs that you’ve used recently.

Also included in Giphy Keys is a Hashtag Commands section that can create unique GIFs for you. For example, using the #echo command will create a word GIF based on what you type, using #weather will give you a GIF that includes your ZIP code’s weather, and the #sticker will let you enter any word and get a random sticker associated with it.

Giphy has a large library of animated GIFs, and so if you’re an iOS user that loves the Graphics Interchange Format, the Giphy Keys app seems like a no-brainer install. Giphy has actually had a dedicated GIF app on iOS for a while now, but Giphy Keys makes it easier to search for and insert GIFs into your messages by building the animated GIFs into your keyboard rather than making you open an app to access them.
