The LG G5 comes equipped with LG UX 5.0, which offers several custom features from the Life’s Good crew. For example, the LG Friends Manager app makes it easy to pair the G5 with its Friends, which are accessories like the LG Cam Plus, LG Hi-Fi Plus, and LG 360 Cam.
There’s also several photo-specific features included in LG UX 5.0. LG says that Auto Shot can recognize when you’re posing for a selfie and automatically snap a photo without you having to press a button, say a phrase, or make a gesture. Meanwhile, Multi-View can create a photo or video collage using the G5’s dual rear and front cameras. LG has included several film filters that can be added to your photos, too.
LG wraps up its UX 5.0 video with a lightning round of other custom features. There’s one that’ll let you easily reinstall an app that you’ve uninstalled in the past 24 hours, an LG Health app that’ll study your activity patterns and offer exercise goals for you to reach, and Smart Doctor to diagnose and maintain your phone’s health. And for anyone moving from an old Android phone to an LG G5, LG Backup can wirelessly transfer content from your old phone to your G5.
LG also offers a few different home screen styles with UX 5.0. There’s a Home option that’ll show all of your apps on the home screen, an Easy Home option that includes a simple layout and larger font, and a Home and App Drawer setting that offers a more traditional Android experience with an app tray that holds all of your apps.
LG UX 5.0 aims to help users take advantage of the G5’s major features, like its modules and cameras, and to encourage G5 owners to take advantage of those features. And while we’ll have to wait until April 1 to experience LG UX 5.0 for ourselves, this video gives anyone thinking about picking up a G5 a taste of what’s coming their way next week.
