One week after we expected the DROID Turbo 2 to start receiving its Android 6.0 update, it looks like the push is finally getting underway.
Motorola’s David Schuster says that soak testing for the DROID Turbo 2’s Android 6.0 update is underway. This means that, for now, the update is rolling out to select users to ensure that everything is working as it should. If the update is working properly after a few days of soak testing, Motorola will begin full deployment.
The DROID Turbo 2’s update includes all of the Android 6.0 goodies that you’d expect, like Doze battery saving, Google Now on Tap, and improved permissions. Motorola has also included adoptable storage, unlike some other manufacturers, which will enable you to insert a microSD card and treat it as if it were internal storage. It’s nice to see Moto keeping the feature around, because while not everyone will want to use it since it results in a lot more work if you want to change your microSD card, it’s good that the option is there for folks that do want it.
