Today Microsoft reported its earnings for fiscal Q2 2016, and it revealed that sales of its Lumia smartphones took a bit of a hit.

Microsoft says that its Phone revenue for the most recent quarter fell 49 percent and that sales of its Lumia smartphones finished at 4.5 million. To compare, Microsoft sold 10.5 million Lumia phones one year ago in Q2 FY15.

Windows Phone and Microsoft’s Lumia phones haven’t gotten a ton of love over the past year, so it’s not totally surprising to learn that Lumia sales weren’t very strong. Microsoft did introduce the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, but only the Lumia 950 is available on US carrier shelves, and it’s only available from a single US carrier. That’s how most US consumers buy their smartphones, which means that the Lumia 950 is going to have a hard time putting up big sales numbers. The only other Windows Phones available on US carriers are older models like the Lumia 650 XL and Lumia 735.
