Following Sprint’s announcement of its recent quarterly results this morning, AT&T has now spilled its own numbers.
AT&T says that during Q4 2015, it added 2.8 million customers, including 526,000 postpaid adds, 469,000 prepaid adds, and 638,000 Mexico wireless adds. Total churn for the quarter finished at 1.5 percent and postpaid churn finished at 1.18 percent, both of which are down from 1.59 percent and 1.22 percent in Q4 2014. At the end of 2015, AT&T reports that it had 128.6 million mobile subscribers.
Another interesting mobile tidbit is that around 46 percent of AT&T’s postpaid smartphone customer base is on AT&T Next, meaning that nearly half of AT&T’s postpaid phone users are on the upgrade program.
AT&T also touched on its services in Mexico, which are the result of its purchases of Mexican carriers Iusacell and Nextel Mexico. At the end of 2015, AT&T Mexico was home to 8.7 million subscribers.
Finally, AT&T says that its wireless business brought in total operating revenues of $18.9 billion in Q4 2015 as well as income of $4.4 billion. That total operating revenue is down a bit from Q4 2014 when AT&T reported $19.9 billion in revenue, but AT&T Mobility’s income grew from $3.6 billion in Q4 2014.
