The Xperia Z5 may be Sony’s latest Android hardware, but thanks to the cancellation of the Xperia Z4v, the newest Sony device available in the US is the Xperia Z3. That may soon change, though.
The Phones page of Sony’s US website lists the Xperia Z3+ as “Coming soon.” Unfortunately, there aren’t any other details available, so it’s unclear when the Xperia Z3+ might be available in the US or how much it’ll cost when it does. Considering that Verizon recently killed the Xperia Z4v, though, Sony could just sell the Z3+ unlocked through retailers like Amazon and Newegg.
The Xperia Z3+ is pretty much the international version of the Xperia Z4, which was announced for Japan earlier this year. The Z3+ offers a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display, 20.7-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel wide-angle futon camera, 3GB of RAM, a 2930mAh battery, and a Snapdragon 810 processor. The Z3+ is an upgrade over the Z3 that’s currently in the US, but here’s to hoping that Sony’s also got plans to give the US the Xperia Z5 as well, which has an upgraded 23-megapixel camera and a fingerprint reader.
