When Samsung first announced its August 13 event, the company shared a teaser GIF that hinted at a new device with a dual edge display. Now that we’re one week out from the big event, Samsung has shared another teaser for it.
A new teaser for Samsung’s August 13 event has appeared on the Samsung Philippines site. The teaser reads “We were the first to make them BIG. Now we’re making BIG even BETTER. Are you ready to Live BIG?” Also included are glimpses of the bottoms of three devices. The first appears to be the Galaxy S6 edge+, and the second looks to be the Galaxy Note 5 with its S Pen partially ejected. The third is a mystery, but because it’s larger than the Note 5, it’s been suggested that the device could be a tablet.
Alongside Samsung’s new teaser, another press render of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has leaked. Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks, today wrote up a post on the Note 5 and the people that’ve criticized its expected lack of a microSD slot and removable battery. The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to feature a 5.6-inch 2560x1440 display, 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 4GB of RAM, an oct-core Exynos 7420 processor, and Android 5.1.1. As I mentioned before, it’s rumored that the Note 5 will lack a microSD slot and removable battery, which would make it the first Note phone to lack those features. That’s sure to drive some would-be buyers away, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Note 5’s new design would convince some folks to pull the trigger on the phone. The lack of a microSD slot and removable battery might be a bummer, but there are ways to make up for both, like cloud storage, fast charging, and wireless charging.
