If you’ve been meaning to buy the ASUS ZenWatch, now is the best time to do it! With the arrival of new Android Wear devices, prices for almost year-old models have started to plummet. Just last month, the price of the first generation ASUS ZenWatch dropped to $149 in both Best Buy and Amazon. To keep up with the market, Google Play has also marked down the price of the wearable to just $129, giving it a 35% discount from its original $199 price tag.
Considering the ZenWatch 2 is set for its market launch soon, the price drop on the first-gen ZenWatch may be a way to boost its sales. Released in November 2014, the ZenWatch is not even a year old, so it can still be considered a fairly up-to-date model and can be put up against newer models. To refresh your memory, the ZenWatch comes with a 1.63-inch AMOLED screen with a 320x320 resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB of RAM and a 360mAh battery. It runs on Android Wear 5.1.1.
Coupled with the price drop and its comparatively neat specs, the ZenWatch could bring some competition to the table, at least between Google Play and other retailers.
