When Apple Pay launched in late October, it supported major credit card companies Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Soon the service will expand to include another high-profile credit card company.
Discover has announced that its customers will be able to use Apple Pay this fall. Discover customers will have access to all of their regular benefits when using Apple Pay, including Cashback Bonus and the Freeze It security tool, and consumers will be able to use Discover Debit and other Discover-based cards with Apple Pay.
Discover cards may not be quite as widespread as Visa and MasterCard, but the company is still a major credit card presence, and so it’s nice to see that Apple Pay will soon gain support for Discover. It’s kind of a bummer that that support isn’t arriving until fall, but hey, at least you Discover users know that it’s coming.
