What is up PhoneDogs, BeauHD here and there’s no question April has been and will be one of the busiest months in technology so far this year in 2015. And it’s only going to get busier as LG has scheduled another event for later this month to announce the upcoming LG G4 flagship smartphone. So in this video, we’re going to give you everything that you can expect to see in that smartphone, the LG G4.
In terms of hardware, it’s going to be very similar to the LG G3 as it will feature a laser autofocus camera sensor with dual LED flash and rear buttons for the volume controls and power/sleep button. We might see metal with the LG G4 and we might not. Either way, it’s going to resemble kind of a similar brushed metal appearance to the LG G3.
LG’s Mobile Chief, Juno Cho, has stated the LG G4 will be radically different than anything else that’s come before. So whether that means it will feature a more premium build quality or build construction, that’s still unknown. There will be a microSD card slot for expandable storage though all the way up to 128GB. And the on board storage will start at 32GB.
The display will be a 5.5-inch Quad HD LCD display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution and it will represent a quantum jump in terms of key features including color gamut, brightness, contrast ratio, touch functionality, power consumption and thinness. So it should look very, very good and should definitely lead the pack in terms of display quality. Kind of similar to how the LG G3 led the pack in display quality last year when it was one of the first smartphones to debut with a Quad HD display.
The LG G4 will also feature a 16MP camera sensor as opposed to the 13MP camera sensor found in the LG G3. And there will also be an 8MP camera sensor on the front of the LG G4. It kind of helps step up your selfie taking game and capture just some high quality front-facing pictures.
In terms of performance, the LG G4 will feature a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. LG is kind of concerned about the overheating issues with the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, which is why it is believed that LG has decided to equip the G4 with an 808 processor ‘cause it doesn’t have any of these overheating issues. This processor is not as powerful as the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor but that doesn’t mean it’s no slouch. It will still be very snappy and very quick, especially with 3GB of RAM and also the Adreno 418 GPU.
LG will also be unveiling the new custom software running on the LG G4, which is the LG UX 4.0 which is actually supposed to cater to each user individually and give them suggestions and feedback and information specifically to the user. So it will be catered directly towards them as opposed to software that’s just made for everybody. So that will be kind of cool. There are some new details released not too long ago but I’m sure we’ll find out a lot more. It is based off Android 5.1 Lollipop and will be running on the LG G4 out of the box. We actually don’t have any details about the battery size of the LG G4. But we can assume that, based off the LG G3, it will have a similar size battery of around 3000 mAh.
Some other features of the LG G4 may include a fingerprint scanner, although that will have to be a last minute design choice as all the leaked screenshots and leaked images don’t show any fingerprint scanner. There’s also some talk of an LG G4 stylus which might be included in the device. But I kind of doubt that. I think the stylus might actually be for a different device that will be designed to compete better with the Samsung Galaxy Note lineup.
So that is what we can expect to see with the LG G4 based off reliable leaks, rumors, screenshots and all that good stuff. Once again, these are based off leaks and rumors so don’t expect all these things that I mentioned to be a 100% true but I think that is the best idea of what we can expect to see with the LG G4.
