Rumors of an HTC One M9 variant known as the One M9+ have been floating around for months now, but now it looks like the device’s launch may finally be near.

Images of a device thought to be the HTC One M9+ have leaked, showing a phone that looks like a regular M9 but with a couple of big tweaks. The first difference is a round, home button-looking thing in the middle of the M9+’s bottom BoomSound speakers. According to previous reports, that’s a fingerprint reader. Meanwhile, the back of the phone has a large, rounded camera housing along with what could be a second camera lens. We can also see China Mobile branding on the phone’s rear.

As these leaked images were surfacing, HTC was sending out invitations to an event in China on April 8. The invite shows the back of a device with a big, round camera like the one found on the phone in the newly-leaked photos. The tagline for the upcoming event is “More than One.”

Specs for this HTC One M9+ are said to include a 2560x1440 display, octa-core  MediaTek MT6795T processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 20-megapixel rear camera. Those specs aren’t terribly different from the plain ol’ One M9, but the One M9+’s higher-res display is sure to have some would-be One M9 buyers wishing that they could get the One M9+ instead. As for the rest of the One M9+’s feature set and HTC’s release plans for the phone, it looks like all will be revealed in a couple of weeks.
