Details on what the big manufacturers are planning to show at MWC 2015 have been leaking out quite a bit lately, and now we’ve got some info on Sony’s plans as well.
The folks at Xperia Blog spotted a page within Sony’s own Xperia Lounge app that confirms that an “Xperia Z4 Tablet” will debut on March 3. The device appears to have a rounded design similar to the Xperia Z3 smartphone, but obviously the tablet will be a bit bigger. The page also mentions that the Xperia Z4 Tablet will have a 2K display, an “ultra fast processor” and “industry-leading battery performance.”
Sony did launch an Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact with its Xperia Z3 smartphone last year, but its 8-inch display was a bit smaller than the Xperia Z2 Tablet that came before it. The Xperia Z4 Tablet looks like it could be a larger, full-on successor to the Xperia Z2 Tablet. If it can combine the rounded edges of the Xperia Z3 with a high-res display, speedy processor, and long battery life, the Xperia Z4 Tablet could become a real Android tablet competitor.
