Ever since the Nexus 6 launched in October 2014, it’s been a pretty tough device to come by. That was especially true in the early days of its availability, which saw Google commit to restocking the Play Store every Wednesday. Today Google confirmed the Nexus 6’s scarcity and shed a bit more light on the matter.
Speaking during Google’s Q4 2014 earnings call, Google CFO Patrick Pichette said that his company had “real issues” and was “unable to secure sufficient inventory to meet the demand that we had forecasted.”
While we didn’t really need Google to tell us that there hasn’t been “sufficient inventory” of the Nexus 6, it’s still nice to see Google acknowledge the problem. Thankfully, the Nexus 6 appears to be becoming more plentiful as of late, with the Play Store letting you buy a unit and estimating a ship date of February 6.
Have you managed to snag a Nexus 6 yet? If so, where’d you get it from?
