The Galaxy Alpha is widely regarded as one of Samsung’s best-looking smartphones to date, offering a one-handed size and metal edge. Now Samsung is taking things a step further by adding even more high-end materials to its Galaxy Alpha.
Samsung’s French arm has revealed limited edition versions of the Galaxy Alpha that have leather backsides. The phones are designed by Free Lance and Jean-Baptiste Rautureau, a shoe company and an artist, for women and men. The phones are limited to 100 total units.
Outside of their leather backsides, these Galaxy Alpha units are exactly the same as the model that debuted earlier this year. That means that they’ve got 4.7-inch 1280x720 Super AMOLED displays, octa-core processors, 12-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front cameras, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.
Obviously design in subjective, and so these limited edition Galaxy Alpha phones won’t appeal to everyone. Because they’re made of leather and they’re super limited, though, I’m sure that Samsung will have no trouble selling these things out.
