The Windows Phone 8.1 update has rolled out to a number of devices — like the Nokia Lumia 1520 — in the eight months since its official debut. One device that hasn’t gotten the update is the HTC 8XT, but the good news is that that’ll change soon.

HTC has confirmed that it plans to update the 8XT to Windows Phone 8.1 “this month.” That’s the only timing that HTC offered up, but with a few weeks left in December, it shouldn’t be too much longer before WP8.1 hits the HTC 8XT.

With new features like Cortana, the Action Center notification center, Word Flow keyboard and much more, Windows Phone 8.1 is a massive update for users of Microsoft’s mobile platform.
