It’s time to welcome a new Android app to the Google app family.
Device Assist is now available for download from Google Play and, just as its name suggests, it aims to help you understand how to use your Android device and to troubleshoot any problems that may arise. Google says that the app can help with issues related to features like GPS, connectivity and battery and give tips on how to use new features and how to improve your device’s performance. And if you’re using a Nexus or Google Play edition device, the app can also easily connect you with live Google support.
Device Assist is supported on Nexus, Google Play edition and Android One devices that are running Android 5.0. The app looks like it’ll fit in nicely with Lollipop, and while we’ll have to see exactly how well it can help users solve issues, having an app on your device that can help troubleshoot could be nice for folks that don’t want to take the extra time to contact Google support or search online.
If you download Device Assist, be sure to share your first impressions of the app with us!
