After showing off glimpses of itself in a few different leaks earlier this year, the LG G2 may finally have been revealed tonight in a set of leaked images that appear to be from a promotional video. Posted by @evleaks, who claims to have received them from a tipster, the shots show the front of a thin device that appears to have an LG logo at the bottom of its face, just like the phone in the first G2 leak.

The other three images in tonight's leak show the back of the G2, complete with what could be volume controls beneath the camera. Interestingly, the device is referred to simply as the "LG G2" in the shots, with no mention of the "Optimus" branding that LG has been used on many of its recent Android products.

LG has yet to officially announce the follow-up to last year's Optimus G flagship, but the company has been dropping hints about the device in recent months. It first stated that the next Optimus G would be "something different and something unique," which would certainly be true if these rear-mounted volume controls are legit. LG also recently confirmed that the follow-up to the Optimus G will sport a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip.

LG has scheduled an "international media event" for August 7, and it's expected that the Life's Good crew will use the shindig to show off its successor to the Optimus G. While it's tough to say whether or not the device in these leaked images is that successor, it wouldn't be a surprise to learn that LG is prepping some marketing materials for its next flagship smartphone with a debut that's just a little over a month out. For now we'll just have to ogle these newly-leaked shots and ponder the purposes that rear-mounted volume controls could serve.
