HTC One S owners on T-Mobile were finally treated to an Android 4.1 update back in late April, but after the update actually began hitting devices, some users found a less-than-desirable surprise mixed in with the Jelly Bean goodness. Select HTC One S users noticed that their battery began depleting more quickly than usual post-JB update, and the issue was eventually recognized in an official T-Mobile support document. There's finally some good news today, though, as T-Mobile has begun pushing an update to correct the problem.

T-Mobile announced today in a new support forums post that HTC One S owners will begin receiving an update today, June 25, that should resolve the battery life issue caused by the previous update. The update is going out over the air and will continue to be pushed through June 28.  Thankfully, One S owners that don't feel like waiting for the cure to their battery life woes can grab the new software manually by going into Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now on their device. The update will bump the One S up to software version 3.14.531.17 70RD.

It's never good to hear about an update causing problems for users, but that's especially true when the issues are related to battery life. Here's to hoping that this new update can cure the One S of its battery troubles once and for all.
