In week 68 of PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™, the HTC One received nearly three times the votes of the Samsung Galaxy S 4, topping the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts for yet another week. Despite the massive marketing push by Samsung for its flagship line, HTC’s superstar smartphone continues to stay on top. With upcoming availability on Verizon Wireless, will the One hold its first place spots through the summer shopping season?
MT PLEASANT, SC – June 24, 2013 – For 68 weeks, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has been the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts each week. In last week’s voting, the HTC One dominated the first place positions on both the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts, garnering a staggering 1,637 votes and 42 expert points. The HTC One has received praise from experts and consumers alike for its metal exterior, high-end specifications, and availability on multiple carriers.
Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S 4 smartphone remained in second place on both the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts with 665 votes and 37 points, while the Samsung Galaxy Note II landed in third place with 197 votes. The Windows Phone-powered Nokia Lumia 920 held its fourth place position with 158 votes, while the Google Nexus 4 remained in fifth place with a total of 148 votes. On the Expert’s Choice Chart, the Apple iPhone 5 remained in third place with 29 points. In the fourth place position, the Samsung Galaxy Note II with 16 points, and joining the Expert’s Choice chart in fifth place, the water-resistant Samsung Galaxy S4 Active with 12 points.
