PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings (OSR) entered week 115 with no movement in the top 3 on either the People’s Choice rankings or Experts’ Choice rankings this week.  That means that the fan and expert favorite for an 8th consecutive week was the HTC One (M8).  As the One (M8) continues to dominate, what will the next big smartphone have to offer to compete for first place?

MT PLEASANT, SC – May 22, 2014 – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) is the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts. With more than double the votes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the HTC One (M8) continues to be the fan favorite, finishing this past week with 119 votes. The Note 3 remained second with 46 votes while the original HTC One (M7) held onto third with 35 votes. Making a jump back up into the top 5 was the LG G2 with 23 votes, followed closely by the Apple iPhone 5s with 21 votes. This left both the new Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 out of the top 5 for the week.   

Taking 1st place by 10 points this week, the HTC One (M8) was the experts’ favorite as well, earning 32 points. Second place went to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which finished with 22 points, followed by the Samsung Galaxy S5 with 18 points. Rounding out the top 5 was the Apple iPhone 5s with 17 points and the LG Nexus 5 with 11 points.
