Just days after the Moto 360 got a beefy update, Google has announced an update of its own that all Android Wear users will get to check out.

Google today confirmed that a new update for Android Wear will begin rolling out soon that includes support for watches with GPS sensors, allowing watches to track things like route and distance without being near a phone. The update also enables music storage on your Android Wear watch and lets you play your tunes on a pair of Bluetooth headphones.

Google says that this new update will roll out to the LG G Watch, Samsung Gear Live and Motorola Moto 360 “over the next few days.”

Speaking of hardware, the Sony SmartWatch 3 is now available for purchase from Verizon Wireless. Pricing is set at $249.99, and orders are expected to ship by October 30. If you’d prefer to buy your SmartWatch 3 from Google itself, the device will be available from Google Play “soon.”

The Sony SmartWatch 3 features a 1.6-inch 320x320 LCD screen with a transflective display that’s easy to read in direct sunlight. Also included is 4GB of storage, IP68-rated casing for resistance to water and a built-in GPS that can take advantage of the features included in today’s Android Wear update.
