HTC recently announced that the unlocked version of its One (M8) flagship would soon begin receiving an update with Android 4.4.4 and its Eye Experience software, and now it appears that that update is indeed rolling out.
Both the unlocked and developer editions of the HTC One (M8) are receiving an update to build 3.28.1540.5. The update — which weighs in at 235.92MB — includes Android 4.4.4 as well as HTC’s Eye Experience, which offers a number of new camera features:
Additionally, the HTC Dot View app has been updated today with music control features, support for third-party notifications, a new weather theme and more.
Overall this sound like a pretty good day for owners of the unlocked and developer versions of the HTC One (M8). If you’re rocking one of those two phones, you can check for this update by heading into Settings > About > Software updates.
It’s also worth noting that HTC has said that it plans to roll out its Eye Experience features to other phones, including the One (M7), One (E8), One mini, One mini 2, One max, Desire 816, Desire 820 and Butterfly 2.
