We’ve been waiting for HTC to announce an Android Wear smartwatch ever since the company was named as an Android Wear partner back in March. Recently a rumor claimed that HTC may have canceled its smartwatch plans, but today a new report says that that’s not the case.
Sources speaking to CNET say that HTC is still cranking away on its smartwatch and that it’s currently aiming for a release in early 2015. Details on the wearable are still light, but the tipsters say that HTC wants its device to stand out and that it plans to do so by offering a strong design as well as consumer-friendly features.
HTC’s hardware design has earned the company a lot of praise in the past, and so it’ll be interesting to see what it can come up with for its smartwatch. Unfortunately, it’s not yet clear when we’ll get our first glimpse at the device, as it’s said that the wearable won’t be shown at HTC’s event next month.
Does the news that the HTC smartwatch is still alive and ticking excite you?
